One Spark Speaker Summit
The World's Crowdfunding Festival Features World-Class Speakers
At last year’s One Spark festival, several people from the Harbinger team attended the underrated speaker series that was programmed by Carl Smith. At first, we just wanted to get out of the heat and melee of the festival experience to chill out in a library auditorium and see what Carl had put together, but once inside we were handily seduced by some great quality presentations. Our favorite was Scott Stratten (see his video below).

The 2015 Speaker Summit
This year Harbinger Innovation decided to sponsor the Speaker Summit. We are passionate about seeing the education component of One Spark grow and this year they moved it out of the library auditorium and into the Florida Theatre. A better venue, for sure, but if only the sparse couple hundred people that showed up last year come to the Florida Theatre, it will look and feel empty to the presenter. So please help us spread the word about this rapid-fire, single-day event loaded with talented and experienced people in the tech and startup worlds. From Jacksonville’s own activist rockers Flagship Romance to GE’s Jack Welch, this event runs the gamut with speakers from localvore to supercorporation statuses.
Better Venue, Better Entertainment, Passionate Host
Fortunately One Spark also upped their game on programming the summit as well. There is love music from Flagship Romance this year, which is a marked improvement that scales the speaker summit up closer to many other conferences in the tech world. Also, the event is hosted this year by the fabulous Daniel Austin. Jacksonville activists, downtown enthusiasts and local thespians know Daniel because of his position as Communications Director for the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville and/or his Best Actor in Jacksonville accolade from Folio Weekly’s 2014 Best of Jax for his role in the Northeast Florida premier of Angels in America. Daniel is passionate about Jacksonville and about One Spark, serving on the TEDxJacksonville leadership team and a proud supporter and volunteer with One Spark since its inception, including helping lead The 5 & Dime Theater Company to victory in the Art category during One Spark 2013.

Together Jack and Suzy have written the new book “The Real Life M.B.A.” which is not yet available except at their speaking engagements.
